Compatibility with iOS 3.1.3 / 4.0?
Up to now, MobileRomeo supports iOS 3.0 and above. Making all the stuff work for iOS 4 while supporting 3.0/3.1 is hard work. We could make some things better if we drop the legacy. Sometime in the future, we definitely will. The question is if it’s 2010 or not.
Login problems fixed
MobileRomeo works again. We fixed the bug regarding the login via our update script.
We’re lucky this time, but consider this as a hotfix… we’re still working on a more “final” solution.
Jailbreak-Questions
We’re very interested in bringing MR back into the AppStore. But if everything fails (= Apple decides we’re not allowed to re-enter the store), we’re curious what you think about Cydia and jealbreaking.
Jailbreaking allows Apps that are not signed by Apple, but is not always easy or risk-free, so we really try to get back in the “official” AppStore.
Login Problems [Update]
MobileRomeo is currently unable to log in.
We’re aware of the issue but can’t do much as we are not in the AppStore any more. Please be patient, we hope to be back end of July. Until then it’s plain’ old MobileSafari 
Update: We are working with GayRomeo on a new version that will work again and complies to the AppStore-Rules.
Gayromeo changed some stuff in their internal session handling which accidentally broke MR – we are looking into the issue but cant promise a fix for the 1.3.2.
We know that sucks and we try, but we were clear in our app description from the beginning that this is an unofficial app and can break anytime.
Please be patient, we’re trying our best here. In the meantime, you can use the fix via More->Gayromeo and Login via Web.
MobileRomeo and iOS4
Today iOS4 will be released.
Rest assured, you can upgrade and still use MobileRomeo. There are some annoyances (that we internally already fixed), but for the most part it still works great.
If MR is slow for you, try to reset your database (in settings). This should speed things up A LOT.
Regarding our AppStore-Situation:
We have spoken with Apple at the WWDC in San Francisco, and although nobody could guarantee anything, we are confident that we can bring MR back in the store. We also know some people at Apple by now, and they try to help.
To comply we have to apply some restrictions (regarding pictures), so we have to work on a new version prior submitting.
And rest assured, we have a backup plan if this doesn’t work out.
And for those that experience the “Unauthorized Copy”-Warning, we have disable this restriction – for now. Have fun!
State of the Nation
It’s been quite quite for the last few weeks. Sorry about that. MobileRomeo won’t go nowhere, don’t worry.
Last week we headed to PlanetRomeo BV. I was pretty exited and curious what we gonna talk about, since our past relationship was not that, well, that intense.
It was my pleasure to meet some really nice and smart guys there – we talked the whole day. Furthermore, they really like MobileRomeo and want it back in the AppStore.
For now, they are trying to get more information about the changes that would be required, and I am working on a new release that should comply to Apple’s rules.
I’m also gonna talk to some Apple guys at WWDC to get answers. Expect more updates on that Issue in late June/July.
In the mean time, PlanetRomeo will watch out to not break MR, and working with them together will be a great advantage for both of us in the future.
For those of you that hadn’t a chance yet to get MR on your phone, don’t despair.
Forming an alliance…
PlanetRomeo BV contacted us for a meeting next week.
That’s a good sign. With their help we really believe we can bring MobileRomeo back on the store.
We probably will have to apply some sort of G-Rating – but better than not have it at all, ey?
And who knows what else this meeting beholds.

MobileRomeo is improving more and more with each version. It got me completely addicted with its nifty features. Nowadays I’m using this great app more than a desktop computer since it feels like a completely different website. It has everything you need and more. Awesome device in combination with this perfect app makes browsing Romeo truly a fantastic experience. Be wise and buy it!

Apple removed us from the AppStore
Just if you wonder why you can’t find MobileRomeo any more on the AppStore…
Yesterday night at about 1 o’clock we got a call from an Apple employee telling us that the app was [already] removed from sale.
They had some complaints from customers with (what they call) inappropriate pictures – they were very colorful describing each one of them.
Apparently customers with GayRomeo-Plus-Accounts using MobileRomeo send those complains including screenshots to Apple…
We’re currently in talks how and when MR can be re-submitted to the store.
But as there are some major differences in the interpretation of soft core between PlanetRomeo (you might need to be logged in to read their guidelines) and Apple (citing the extremely strict Grindr guidelines), this might not happen at all.
For all guys that already have it: Apple will not remove it from your phones (although technically they could…)

Following Features are currently broken:

- Automatic Message Updates. Use Manual Reloading for now
We have to analyze what other changes are made, please report if any features are broken since the update.
We’ll fix that with the upcoming 1.4 release.
